But then, it lacks the elegance of its high range counterpart. The notebook is pretty glossy on the inner side which means it welcomes the finger prints. So the notebook needs delicate handling since it is not very friendly to the fingers. But then exterior does not really attract the imprints, so there is positively no problem that way. If there could be some minor problem in the design of the notebook, it is while opening the notebook. It can be quite hard when they try to open up the notebook, because it is not really easy to separate them with a single hand. So you will find yourself getting irritated if you try to open the notebook with just one hand while the other is preoccupied. But then, Practice makes a man perfect. So by practice you can get over this problem.

Overall the keyboard is okay with neither big negatives nor big positives.

The Touch pad:

The track pad of this HP G62-400 15.6 inch notebook is below average. The main problem with this touchpad is that there is no difference between the touchpad and the general palm rest area. This can be so difficult at times when the user tries to move the cursor while looking at the screen. The entire area below the keyboard is equally flat. Also there is the single button that performs both the left and right operations. The user has to click the left most side of the button to do the left mouse operations and the right end of the button to perform the right click operations. Few users have no problem with this single button system while there are many who completely dislike it, personal opinion vary.
